Deelkraal was established in 1861 and the homestead built in the early 1900’s by a cattle and crop family who owned the farm for over 80 years. It then changed hands a couple of times before the current owners arrived and have restored both the 2000 hectare reserve and the lodge, with great care and respect to it’s heritage.
An historical style homestead, Deelkraal stands apart from the more modern take on African accommodation. The decor is subtle and understated, transporting guests back in time to an era where the days melt into one another with the setting of the African sun.
The bedrooms in the main House and the Garden Cottage are spacious and well appointed. Deelkraal is a place for individuals and families to kick off their shoes, feel the earth between their toes, soak up the sun and thoroughly absorb the sights, sounds and smells of the African bushveld.
